Which courthouse is your case filed in?

Fassio Law helps people charged with DUI and Criminal Cases in Cleveland County. You would think court is court, but actually there are hundreds of courthouse locations in Oklahoma! Even if we narrow it down and just look at criminal courts, there are still lots of different courthouses that handle criminal matters.

The vast majority of criminal cases in Oklahoma will be filed in either federal court, state court or municipal/city court. Where the case is filed depends on what law you are alleged to have violated. For example, if you are alleged to have violated a federal law, your case will be in federal court. If you are charged with violating state law, your case will be in state court.
At Fassio Law, our team is dedicated to helping people who are charged with a DUI or criminal charge in Cleveland County.

What our clients say: "helped make a terrifying situation much less scary"

If you are arrested or charged with violating OKLAHOMA STATE LAW, and it is a criminal offense that allegedly occured in Cleveland County, charges will be filed in Cleveland County.

If you are arrested or charged with a MUNICIPAL or CITY LAW violation, charges will be filed in that city.  For city court (also referred to as municipal court), most city/municipality locations have their own court system.

If you're not sure, you can usually look at your court paperwork and tell what entity has brought charges against you. If your paperwork says state of Oklahoma versus James Turner, then that means you have been charged by the state of Oklahoma with violating a state law and your court case will be in state court.
